The Feedback Double-Edged Sword

Ever get feedback on your business that hits you like a punch in the gut?

When I was first building ARRow at ForecaaS Software Inc., I was a total newbie to this whole “software founder” thing. My approach was deliberately slow and steady: no VC, very little (ok, pretty much no) formal marketing, and a very small, very intentional beta group of customers I could work with side‑by‑side.

Because if I was going to touch something as critical as recurring revenue reporting, I wanted to be absolutely certain ARRow was accurate, stable, and supportable before I opened the floodgates.

The feedback from some early advisors? “You’re not moving fast enough. You’re going to get lapped by competitors and market demand.”

Harsh.

I felt a little like the Black Knight in Monty Python (IYKYK 😄).

But also… not entirely wrong.

What I’ve learned is that negative feedback is a lot like getting a shot. It stings, might leave a bruise, but when it’s delivered with the right intent, it’s exactly the booster you need to stay healthy and grow.

For ARRow, that “you’re too slow” feedback turned into a superpower. Spending more time up front with a tight group of beta customers meant ARRow got battle‑tested in real revenue ops scenarios, not just in my dev org. The product got sharper, the edge cases got ironed out, and by the time we were ready to widen the funnel, we had something that actually earned the trust of operators who live and die by their numbers.

And that foundation changed how I approached our second product, ForecaaS CPQ. I took the confidence and learnings from ARRow’s extended, customer‑driven build, combined it with the “move faster, ship bolder” feedback, and pushed much harder on getting our Salesforce‑native CPQ into the world.

So if you want to help me finally apply that tough feedback and keep the momentum going, DM me about what ForecaaS CPQ can do for your org. I’m more than happy to keep learning my lesson 😅
