My biggest CPQ tips

What if your next CPQ implementation started with clean pricing rules instead of shiny features?

My second biggest tip for anyone rolling out a new CPQ tool: build the implementation around a serious audit of your internal pricing rules.

Consider this another one of my non-negotiables for how a RevTech stack should actually function.

For a lot of organizations, agreeing on pricing per product can already mean weeks of back and forth. But that’s only the surface of what should be decided on.

The built-in volume discounts, bundle pricing, discount tiers, block pricing logic and all the messy bits that turn "simple" quotes into a slog.

Those business rules are the foundation that has to be in place before any technical installation is done.

It’s the only way to end up with a CPQ tool that does what it's supposed to do: help sales teams generate accurate, versioned quotes quickly and consistently.

And don't stop at configuration. Make sure the implementation includes actual documentation and training for the sales team so they know what to expect (and what they might not be able to get away with anymore 😉 ).

Now my first biggest tip is for Salesforce users only: get in touch.

Our Salesforce-native CPQ tool is fresh out of beta and call me biased, but I think it delivers exactly what a CPQ tool should.
